Who are gonna be some guys you're gonna pick up late and give you big time numbers?

Biggest fantasy sleeper = me

I'll probably not even join a league. Hence, I'll be sleeping through out the fantasy season.

Is that a bit of a stretch for a joke?

He isn't really a sleeper considering a lot of people are picking him in the 2/3 round but Hanley Ramirez is a guy that could put up Reyes like numbers but you can wait on him a few more rounds and get a big power guy or two with your early picks

Adam LaRouche, he's gonna be depended on a lot more in Pittsburgh than he was in Atlanta because he doesnt have the support in the line-up like in Atlanta, but still enough in Jason Bay and company to protect him

Also a guy like Scott Podsednick, who had a great fantasy year a couple years ago and then not so much last year. He will probly be viewed as either a one hit wonder or a risk at best, picking him up late could pay off big.

I like Adam LaRoche too.  Another guy I like coming off a bad year is Brad Wilkerson.  He used to be an OBP freak.

For pitchers, Dave Bush is someone I'm really excited about.  Last year he was inconsistent, but when he was on he was lights out, and flirted with a few no-hitters.  By the end of the year I expect him to be ahead of Suppan and maybe Capuano in the Brewers' rotation.

Others:

Rich Hill

Morgan Ensberg (another guy coming off a sub-par year)

Chien-Ming Wang (He might be NY's best pitcher)

Solomon Torres (first year as a closer for Pittsburgh, I got him in like the last round of my first draft)

Stephen Drew

Wang is a good pick because he will start the season as the ace of the Yankee rotation. But since he has only thrown one great year there is still some questions as to how consistant he will be and he is not a household name yet. This means he will probly drop a little and while there is some risk in taking him, the potential reward is a cy young calliber pitcher.

Matt Holiday - had a big year last year with the rockies 34/114 but it was a break out year. he hasnt shown he can be a consistant slugger in the majors and he's still a little under the radar. but anytime you can find a guy with his type of game that plays in colorado its worth the pick just because of the elevation.

Garrett Anderson - by his standards had an absolutely awful year last year and is 34 years old so a lot of people will opt to pass on him. however, getting gary matthews jr will help him in the line up and we all saw how good he can be from a couple years ago.

i also aggree with morgan ensberg, he's inconsistant like its his job, but when hes playing well he can really play.

The word is out on Holliday for sure, and Rich Hill goes waaay too early in most drafts because everyone is hoping he will continue the run he had at the end of the year last year.

I think Drew is a great pick once you have a solid shortstop already either for your bench or for a middle infield spot. He is a guy that could blow up but will fall enough that if he doesn't pan out it won't hurt you too bad if you took him.

Scotty Po...eh, he isn't what he used to be that's for sure, the thing about him is yah he will steal 40 bases but he gets caught like 20-25 times. That hurts your run potential. Definetely worth a 4th or 5th outfielder spot though.

What does everyone think of Dan Uggla. I plucked him off waivers last year and he really carried my team while he was hot. He is pretty much everyones pick for a sophomore slump since he struggled down the streach, but I think he could probably be ok, considering how thin second base is. Anyone else have a thought?

I think Uggla could be a really good pick. Struggling down the stretch for him was probably the best thing in the world for a fantasy team. He will be looked at as a one hit wonder or as having a slump this year, when I think he had his slump last year because he was tired from full time experience in the big leagues and is ready to break out now.

podzilla is an interesting guy. the problem with him is he gives you no power potential at all and is not as good as someone like ichiro to depend totally on his speed. but this guy was one of the best sprinters in the country as a high school and transfered that to the big leagues by just running fast to swipe bags instead of being a base stealer. If he can learn to steal bases he will be unbeleivable once he gets on. I'd take the risk on him, he's due to break out.

I like Nick Johnson in Washington. He has put up good but not great numbers his whole career, granted its only been i think three years. But he has one of the best eyes in baseball and is bound to break out. Losing soriano could be a blessing in disguise for Johnson in that his run producing numbers could increase, but it also doesnt help him that his protection has gone down in the line up

Of course Johnson is going to miss at least a month, maybe two while healing a broken leg...........

What do you guys think about Hank Blalock. I like takin him a little later, but he's a risk. Three of the past four years he's had big time years, but his down year was last year, so it kinda makes me wonder. Im hoping he'll bounce back, because if he can get his swing in check he can really produce wiht Michael Young in the middle fo that line up with him.

I like Blalock, especially for the draft value you will get him at. After the top...say three/four 3rd basemen you might as well wait until the double digit rounds to snatch someone like Blalock.

Also, please don't take Zimmerman in the 5/6th round, let the man do something, especially without Soriano, before you take him becuase that lineup will be TERRIBLE

Eric Chavez might drop to one of the later rounds in some leagues. If that's the case, pick him up. Last season's dip in stats was do to a ton of nagging injuries (not bad enough to keep him out of the line-up, but they effected the stat line).

He's almost a lock for 30 HRs and 100 RBIs with a BA around .280 when healthy, and from all I know, he is healthy.

Where has Brian McCann been going in drafts?  He's a potential sleeper because he doesn't have a big name, but had a good season last year and is still very young.

Yea Brian McCann is very good and the Braves have a lot of faith in him, enough so that they gave up Johnny Estrada either last year or the year before feeling that McCann could take over. I also like Michael Cuddyer in later rounds.
