Apparently, Joe Girardi gave advice to Jon Lieber, who pitched for the division rival Phillies, last year that turned around his season. I find it hard to believe that Girardi could give the kind of advice that would considerably improve Liebers' season. It was probably a coincidence. If he had such great advice to give, maybe he should have given it to his own players so he could have kept his job.
It still is mind boggling to me that a coach would give opponents advice at all, though. That's just stupid!

on the one hand, baseball is a business and you dont help opponents, but on the other hand they say baseball is the biggest fraternity in the world, so when friends need each other, they probly help each other so who knows how good of friends those two are. regardless, i find it hard to believe that some advice someone can give someone else that late in the season can turn around a season
